His Ashes will be placed in the family lot in Barnesville City Cemetery, Barnesville, Minnesota.

He was raised in Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville School. Then joined the army in 1951 and served two years of active duty and two years in the reserves. He then moved to the Twin Cities and shortly thereafter began his career working for the railroad, first with the Great Northern Railway, which later became the Burlington Northern, and then, through further mergers, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He loved his job and worked there for some 47 years.

There will not be a service.

Julian Loren Bekkerus

Julian Bekkerus, Age 90, a resident of New Brighton, Minnesota, died on Sunday, February 18 at 8:55 am, 2024, in his home. Julian is survived by his wife Joyce, his two sons Mark and David, his grandchild Jake and his great-grandson Jareth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilbert and Dorothy and his sisters, Mary Tester Martineau, Karen Hanson, Linda Spiesz.
